AUSTIN B-CYCLE SUPPORTS “AUSTIN DON’T RUSH” WITH COMPLIMENTARY WALK UP ACCESS
Everyone who rides Austin B-cycle on May 11 with promo code also gets free month of bike share access
AUSTIN- Austin B-cycle will waive the $8 access fee for its 24-Hour “Walkup” access pass as part of Mayor Steve Adler’s Austin Don’t Rush initiative on Wednesday, May 11. To redeem, Austin residents can go up to any Austin B-cycle station on May 11 and enter promo code 051116 for 24 hours of bike share system access at no charge.
“Mayor Adler has called on all of us to do our part in improving our growing traffic problem, and to support this initiative Austin B-cycle will help Austinites access our system to get around on May 11 for no charge,” said Elliott McFadden, Executive Director of Austin B-cycle.
The Mayor is encouraging people to rethink their commute, whether that means telecommuting, carpooling or using alternative transportation. Austin B-cycle has 50 stations located throughout Central Austin, including many near transit hubs like MetroRail and MetroRapid Stations.
“Austin B-cycle provides a low cost, healthy option for short trips and that last mile connection from transit to work,” McFadden continued. “In addition, everyone who rides Austin B-cycle with our Austin Don’t Rush Code on May 11 will get an additional month of Austin B-cycle at no charge so they can keep reducing traffic with our fun, fast service.”
The complimentary Austin B-cycle Walk up and Local30 monthly access passes includes unlimited trips between bike share stations of up to 60 minutes. Usage fees at $4/30 minutes still apply for trips lasting longer than 60 minutes. To receive the free Local30 membership, simply opt-in for text messaging on your Walk-up pass, and a promotional code will be texted to you within 24 hours.
